Old Business:

  • Pastor Foss Report: Things are going good, Tim Crites has the information.

  • Greg Shinn Report: Went over 12/31/17 Budget, See Attached 12/31/17 Statement of Income and Expense.

  • Discussion: About 529 Program Heather Jo Hawkins is getting information to pass out to parents through Thrivent.

  • Principal’s Report:
    • August 15th starts 2018/19 School Year. Last day for this year is May 17th.
    • 3rd Grader’s went caroling at Presbyterian Manor and Maple Brook Nursing.
    • Registration starts February 1st.
    • Launching new website. Jenny Schweiss has been phenomenal.
    • Did Curriculum Mapping December 1st. Mr. Murray discussed how mapping works.
    • 8th Grade touring High School January 26th.
    • Total of 284 children enrolled at present.
    • Tuition: Have worked on numbers, 5% increase in tuition.
    Discussion: Heather Jo discussed the 5-year history of tuition increases and how they have determined how to raise tuition.
    • Doing good on delinquencies. Parents are working with Mr. Murray getting the money paid.

New Business:

  • Constitution/By Law Committee: Haven’t acted upon it yet.

  • New Praise & Worship Service: Ceth Jordan & Heather Garner are working on new service. Putting committee together. Need to get new people involved.

  • Call Committee: Met last Sunday, Interviewed 2 pastors. Trying to come to recommendation. Goes to Elders and then will have a “Special” Council Meeting to hear Call Committee recommendation. Then after that will request Voters Meeting. Continue praying for guidance, and new pastor.

  • Kraig Sutherland requested a motion to have Greg Shinn contact LCF to discuss refinancing loan. Motion 1

  • Christian Life:
    • Celebration 02/11/18 at 10:30 with a Potluck for 50+ Anniversaries. Chicken and Ham provided, bring a Dish, School kids sing, might have Sunday School Activities. Kraig Sutherland requested that we need to promote the celebration.
    • High School serving Soup and Sandwich dinner before Lent services with a freewill offering.
    • 145th Anniversary of St. Paul in November. Council will share responsibility.Motion 2

  • Christian Studies:
    • VBS 7/22 to 7/26/2018 from 5:30 to 8.00pm. Start kit ordered, Splash Canyon Theme for grades Pre-K through 6th grade.
    o Having Swim Party for opening night at Farmington Swim Park, with BBQ in parking lot.
    Motion 3:
    • Reorganizing Sunday School.
    • Attendance is increasing. Listing numbers in Prophet.
    • Discussed getting Bible Study started again for 445 people.
    • Advertising for a Young Adult Leader.
    • Lock-In was a success, $140.00 collected as free will offering

  • Board of Elders:
    • Working on Deacon Program, has a few people their working with.
    • Had discussion with Pastor Foss about training for deacons.
    • Pastor would like Stevens Ministry to be increased. Pastor is wanting new Steven’s leaders to take training.
    • Discussed music program.

  • Christion Outreach:
    • Reaching out to Community organizations that need help. Trying to get out into the community.
    • Looking at duplicating some of what others are doing.
    • There are members with needs, needing to know how to help an adult with youth.
    • We Have 4 Dates to approve 6/15, 7/13, and 8/10 for BBQs and 9/15 for Octoberfest.
    Motion 4:
    • Gave food to homeless shelter and boys ranch.

  • Finance:
    • Gregg Shinn is by himself, looking for new members

  • Trustees:
    • Individual selling sound system for $2200
    Motion 5:
    • John and Jason shoveled snow.
    • Accomplished many projects on the planned work day event.

  • Christian Education:
    • Having vendor event on school registration day.
    • Need new librarian, have advertisement, no one has responded yet.
    Discussion: About white house as Youth House and having the need for “Hard Copy” Library in this day of virtual books.
    Discussion: For the consideration of adding storage unit.
    Recommendation:
    • Christian Education, Studies and Trustees to find a Sub Committee to decide what to do with brick house.
    Motion 6:
    o Heather Jo has volunteered to head the committee.
    • Christian Education has 4 slots open
    • Need new people to participate
    • Was mentioned to re-establish volunteer hours
