Dear members of St. Paul,

I need to let you know what I have recently shared with our church leaders:  After much thought and prayer, I have decided to retire as St. Paul’s pastor, with an end date of August 9.  It has become clear to me that, for many reasons, the time is right for me – and for you.  I know the Lord will continue to bless and keep you through His Word as you seek to serve Him.  I look forward to continuing ministry with you these next five months, even as you begin the process of calling a new pastor.  We are well on our way to developing a strategic plan for our church & school.  Your continued participation in this process is essential, as it will, in part, serve as a great tool in identifying and calling the next pastor –whom our gracious Lord already has in mind for you!  In fact, it should help speed the process along (God-willing) and help bring someone (or even multiple people) who would fit well, according to His plan. Thank you for your love and support, and may our Savior keep you in His care!
