The Altar Guild takes care of the altar paraments in keeping with the church seasons, care for the communion vessels, the set-up and clean-up for communion services, and the laundering of linens and robes. All of this is currently done by a very small group of people. This group is very much in need of more volunteers. Please contact the Church Office if you can help in any way or would like more information about the responsibilities.
We have a wonderful group of people who prepare and serve a meal to the family of deceased members. Volunteers are needed to help by donating food, paper products, and help with preparing and serving the meal.
Contact Karen Detring or the church office if you are interested in helping!
Linda Neiter is the leader and director of our handbell choir. The group meets in the church balcony for rehearsal at 7:00pm every Thursday during the school year, September through May.
If you are interested in playing handbells, please contact Linda at 314-540-3555. The ability to read music or play an instrument is helpful, but not required.
The oldest organization of St. Paul is the Ladies Aid. It was organized March 13, 1892. Its purpose is to aid St. Paul in many projects, assist charities of the church at large, and contribute to the needs of the Synod. Ladies Aid purchased the first organ in the first church in 1892. They furnished the altar and pulpit for the 1908 church. And they have assisted in redecorating the church at various times.
Through the years, custom quilting has been the primary money maker for the group. The small group of ladies in the organization now still do quilting. Anyone wishing to join the group should stop by the church basement any Wednesday between 10am and 4pm.
The Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML) was organized May 17, 1954. The local group carries out the aims and purposes of the International and District LWML. Funds for operating our programs come from the Mite offerings gathered each month. Workshops, rallies and retreats offer opportunities to each woman to participate in the League’s endeavors. The local group meets four times each year: September, November, February and May. All women of the congregation are considered members. Contact the Church Office for more information.
The first Men’s Club of St. Paul had its beginnings in 1934. Throughout the years, they collected memberships for the Lutheran Laymen League mission projects. Many projects of the local congregation were supported by the men. The membership waned, but has been recently revived and has grown. They have done many projects and have become the “grill masters” of St. Paul. They meet monthly for Christian fellowship and food.
Michelle Bird is our praise & worship director. If you are interested in singing with the praise team please contact Michelle 573-631-6524. There is no age requirement, just a desire to sing praises to our Lord, If you can play an instrument and want to join us please let Michelle know.
The team meets at 7:00 pm in the balcony of the Church on Wednesday Evenings.

The tackers make approximately fifty mission quilts a year. Those quilts go to local and Synod mission projects. The quilters make crib and larger sizes of quilts for individuals or for sale at the school auction. Funds are used for church projects. The group also includes ladies from other churches in the area.
For more information, please join us in the church basement (east end of the Church) on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-2:30pm.
