Free Movie

Thursday, January 22
The movie FED UP will be shown in the school commons on Thursday, January 22 at 7 p.m. This movie is 92 minutes long and is appropriate for everyone from age eight up. Please bring your own healthy dinner/snacks and drinks to enjoy during the movie. Air-popped popcorn will be provided. What’s the movie about? This movie is an examination of America’s obesity epidemic and the food industry’s role in aggravating it. Everything we’ve been told about food and exercise for the past 30 years is dead wrong. FED UP is the film the food industry doesn’t want you to see. From Katie Couric, Laurie David (Oscar winning producer of AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) and director Stephanie Soechtig, FED UP will change the way you eat forever. Bring your friends and family members.

The Flute Society of St. Louis Flute Choir

Please join us this Sunday, December 28, 20147 at the 10:30 Worship service for The Flute Society of St. Louis Flute Choir.

The Flute Society of Saint Louis is a non-profit organization operated by a board of directors that work on a volunteer basis. This organization strives to provide our members with activities that showcase the flute in professional and educational development. We provide events that cater to the needs of a diverse audience, which includes students, amateurs, professionals and teachers. Our primary goal is to offer flutists of all ages events that educate and enrich their knowledge of the flute, its performance and its repertoire.
The FC is comprised of flutists (advanced high school, college age and above) from the St. Louis community of varying careers and musical backgrounds. The choir performs regularly during the season (September through May) at venues such as nursing homes, FSSL events, church services, school tours, flute recitals, etc.
Our ensembles features piccolo, C-flutes, alto, and bass flutes. Members have the opportunity to play on all instruments of the flute family as we take turns on parts. Musical selections include a diverse mix of popular music, arrangements of famous classical works, and modern compositions written for flute ensembles.
