July Minutes 2016- Church Council

Old Business:

  • Pastor report by Pastor Rick Foss. He is working on shut-ins calls, VBS, Capital Campaign and with Mr. Murray.

  • Principals report given by Heather Hawkins. Board is helping Principal Murray to get up to speed. Enrollment is 302 (k-8). Lindsay Bennett has been hired as a part time aid in 2nd & 4th grades. Brenda Jordan is the Athletic Director. Board is working on unpaid tuition. Security cameras are adjusted and other security measures are being quoted and evaluated.

  • Treasure Report by Greg Stover. Reviewed financial statement. Year end balance budget- terrific news!

  • 1. Going Beyond- Co-directors are Cindy Borders and Steve Thomas. Looking for 100% participation.
    Dave Ramsey 9 week program is available. Theme verse is Eph. 3:20-21

  • 2. Oktoberfest is Sept. 14,2016. Various for promotion. Beer Garden with Music.
    Jason Garner will organize a car show. Limited version of country store, quilt show, food, games, lots of fun.

  • 3. Sunday School Superintendent, a recommendation has been made to the elders.

  • 4. VBS is July 31-Aug 4. Need elders every night 5:30-8. Thursday evening is a family dinner.

New Business:

  • 1. capital Campaign Imagine Weekend 8/20-21. Rev. Sproul is preaching to kick off the program " Are you ready to RSVP?"

    Christian Studies report - Heather meeting with grade school teachers to encourage them to encourage students to attend Sunday School and Youth Group.
    Outreach- Amy Jarrett organizing Oktoberfest and food drives.

  • Life- Joann Henderson getting committed to make desserts and organizing Country Store for Oktoberfest. Helping out Going Beyond with mailing and food.
    No report from Finance Board

  • Trustee Jason Garner 3rd pump installed in the pit of school building.
    Education report Heather Hawkins 70 Chrome books have been purchased for 2nd and 8th grade with fund from triple c and auction.
    Chad Pipkin is upgrading the firewall
