  • I. Call Committee meeting (6-­27) 
    A.Committee met with Dustin Murray 
    B.Consensus of the Call Committee for the Board of  Education to hire Dustin Murray as Principal for St. Paul  Lutheran School 
    C.Committee members called on Mr. Murray’s references.  All spoke very highly of him. 

  • II. Discussion
    A.Pastor Rick, Mr. G., Sally, Heather Jo, Jenny, and Bobbi  shared thoughts from the interview 

  • 1. Dustin exuded good character traits 
    2. Very good feeling of him through interview 
    3. Dustin discussed a previous principal’s methods  and strategies that he will strive to emulate 
    4. One of the biggest takeaways from the business  world is the importance of employee trust

  • 5. Very active in the Methodist church. When asked  about attending and joining St. Paul Lutheran  Church, he said his goal is to do the work God  wants him to do, wherever it is. 
    6. References stated Dustin handles issues that arise  in his various roles diplomatically and is well­liked  by everyone. 
    7. Since Dustin comes from a different church, our  community family members may identify with him 
    8. Dustin has great leadership ability based on her  experiences with him 
    9. Dustin’s former Superintendent spoke very highly  of his ability to work with students from all  backgrounds and academic ability 

  • 10. Asked Dustin if he knew his own strengths and  weaknesses...he does!  11. Offered to meet with Dustin periodically as  needed to help with transition needs 

  • III. Salary 
    A.$54,256 based on years experience and education 
    B.Total package ­ $72,583 
    C.Heather Jo motioned to begin contract negotiations  with Mr. Murray to hire him as Principal 

  • IV. Bobbi motioned to extend a stipend to Mrs. Johnson for  professional development and mentoring responsibilities
