  • Chairman Jerry Hoeflein opened with a prayer

  • $29,000 needed for member family tuition assistance and $42,000 for community family scholarships.
    282 students registered for next year.
    As far as budget goes:

  • Additional Middle School teachers, Mr Callahan, Mrs Pinkley, Mrs Griffin and Mrs Kurtz.

    Mrs King moving to MN, Mrs Easley retiring, Mrs Gierse retiring
    Mrs Folk spending more time at high school.
    Still working on a principal.

  • Guest Tammy DeGroot proposed a Tupperware Party to benefit school scholarships. 40% of sales from fundraiser catalog goes to cause. May 1-17 or order on line.

  • Treasurers Report given by Greg Shinn.
    Talked about preliminary budget. Currently Tammy Propst is getting 2/3 of $10,000 for finance clerk and Jamie Montgomery is getting 1/3 of $10,000 for finance clerk.
    Would like to move forward with hiring a finance clerk for church, school and foundation.
    Will need special council meeting to approve budget and approve job description.
    May 10 at 6pm.
    Mr G commended Greg on the Foundation.
    It was a confusing concept for most of us but he pulled it together and raised $100,000. Thank you!

  • Board of Elders Report given by Scott Lix.
    1173 members. Attendance 294 as of April 10. One funeral for Don Karl Giessing.
    Gary Cooper will head up a membership study to figure out who is a member and who isn’t.
    Elders in strong agreement that St Paul families should not be not choosing St Paul School for financial reasons. May 16 presentation on Pledge Drive 6pm in Commons.
    Propose Greg Dement to fill vacancy created by Ken Kelly resignation.
    Greg Stover motion to recommend that proposal to the voters.

  • Christian Studies Report was given by Heather Kurtz. We will be having some SS personnel changes, mixing things up for the summer. VBS is July 31-Aug 4. Registration starts June 1.
    Windemere was great :28 students attended.

  • Christian Outreach Report given by Janet Laut.
    Donuts and coffee before 9am church in the upper level starting in May.
    Would like to show War Room some evening.
    Velma Kocher calling recent visitors.
    Amy Jarrett working with Finance on budget.

  • Christian Life Report given by Joann Henderson.
    19 people came to Building Fund pledge drive meeting.
    Next meeting is May 16. June-Sept timeline.

  • Board of Finance Report given by Greg Stover. Board supports the work being done on the Building Fund pledge drive.

  • Board of Trustees Report given by John Thomas. Troubleshooting the speaker problem in church
    installed a bench near the playground – Kim Allen Buddy Bench.

  • Board of Christian Education Report given by Sally Shinn. Recognize the volunteers that are putting on the annual auction- East Meets West on April 30.

  • Stewardship – Pastor has been addressing from the pulpit every Sunday.

New Business:

  • Jason Garner will be the new Chair starting May 24, 2016.
    Kraig Sutherland will be Vice-Chair starting May 24, 2016

  • Agreed to allow the Boy Scouts under the leadership of Greg Shinn and Jeff Krekeler to use the commons one Saturday in June.

  • Kraig Sutherland brought forward a request from Endowment Committees for church and Westmeyer Fund. Currently serving are Bob Mell, Wayne Blumenburg, Maurice Harrington, Bill Hall and Kraig Sutherland.
    Janet Laut suggested to ask Les Hayes and Ron Simms to replace two members unable to continue to serve.

  • On Cemetery Committee Scott Lix suggested to replace Maurice Harrington and Ed Meinz with Wayne Blumenberg and Kraig Sutherland.

  • Rural Small Town Mission Conference will be in Wichita KS in November 2016. Heather Kurtz would like to attend and will do her own fundraising to cover the $1200 expenses.
