Old Business:

  • Pastors Report given by Pastor King. Graduations were very nice. Had a few days off, Thank You.
    Several members in the hospital, prayers are appreciated for Lettie Bishop. Country Days Sunday Service in the park at 9am. Average attendance has been 296, which is down a little. Membership changes: 16 junior confirmands, 3 baptisms, Bill Bertram family transferred out. District Conference is June 14-16 in Springfield MO, Gary Cooper and Pastor King are going.

  • Principals Report given by Lori Flenner. Enrollment is 286 down 50 from last year. Afternoon pre-school has openings. Other things working pending approval of the budget. This is Mrs Flenners last week here.

  • Treasurers Report given by Greg Shinn. Cash is needed. $170,000 thru June and July.

  • Board of Elders given by Steve Thomas. New stewardship program. There will be a Concecration Sunday. Studies show very few people tithe.

  • Christian Studies Report given by Cathy Jarvis. VBS is in good shape. Need preschool teachers. Dates are July 26-30. Sunday School supplies are getting moved to the closet in the commons.

  • Board of Education report given by Mark Cook. Hosting a social event to introduce staff to interim principal partnership of Leanna Johnson, Kim Allen, Duane Giesselmann and Andy Sherrill.. Board has hired a new fourth grade teacher. Renee Kurtz will be the music teacher. Tricia Kerns will be directing Little Giants. Ange La Sutherland is retiring and Nikki Samples will be taking her place.

  • Care Process regarding Pastoral Care- Gene Wiseman and Pastor Kirk wrapped up the mentoring section.

  • Congregation Restoration- Still some loose ends here.

  • Vision Team- Has had success and needs to communicate that to the congregation.

  • Volunteer Policy has been worked and reworked. Any corrections to be communicated to Jerry within 48 hours.

New Business:

  • Jerry Hoeflein would like to have board chairs be available at each congregational meeting to address any questions that may come up.

  • Budget Proposal presented by Greg Shinn. With $300,000 from the Foundation, the budget is solid.

  • An estimate for the church roof was passed to the trustees

  • Council extends their appreciation to Marlene Brockmiller for her volunteer hours and expertise in assisting the church these last 6 months.
