April Minutes 2015- Church Council

Meeting Date/Time: 04/28/2015

Heather Kurtz, Greg Stover, Steve Thomas, Jerry Hoeflein, Jeff Krekeler, Mark Cook, Pastor King, Mary Fitzgerald, and Eileen Jones in attendance.

Old Business:

  • Pastor King. Average attendance has been 361.

  • Greg Stover Working on budget. Budget will be voted on at the May 31, 2015 congregational meeting. Copies will be distributed before hand.

  • Board of Elders given by Steve Thomas. Communion every Sunday during summer. Country Days Service in the Park with Hand Bells.

  • Christian Studies Report given by Heather Kurtz. VBS Planning meeting on May 4 at 7 pm. Volunteer Policy will be finalized for May council meeting.

  • Christian Outreach Report given by Jeff Krekeler. Using the time and talent survey to identify gifts of potential new members for the board of Christian Outreach.

  • Board of Education report given by Mark Cook. Figuring out class sizes and teachers for next year. Call process is progressing on candidate from the district office to interview so far.

  • Trustees Report. Need to mulch and a slide needs attention on the playground.

  • Care Process regarding Pastoral Care- Last of mentoring sessions next week.
    Congregation Restoration- Stewardship needs another chair.
    Vision Team- Will meet again once school ends.

  • Policy Based Governance- Dan Storz and Sarah Folk will be on exploratory committee. Info will be distributed as discovered.

  • Stephens Ministry needs leaders and trainers. Will have informational meetings in June.

New Business:

  • High School Graduation May 16 at 1pm

  • Adult Confirmation members accept into the congregation- passed.
